Today, I'm going to be talking about whether or not you can build a drop shipping store or business part time when you’re in your spare time, and the pros and cons of trying to do that. So let's get started.
Right. So, can you build a drop shipping store part time? I guess in a lot of the time this is the main reason that a lot of people get started with drop shipping as sort of their leapfrog into the online world, in thoery you can quite easily start a drop shipping business in your part time or in your spare time.
Let's analyze that just quickly because a lot of people that are obviously working their full time jobs and literally trying to make the happened... you need very little capital to get started, no stock to hold, work from home etc etc however what I find a lot of the time is that they don't treat it like a real business or even a part time job...
Most people are not putting the hours in. So let's look at it this way.
You’ve got a full time job, and just say you took...
Today, I'm going to be talking about a question that I get asked a lot, and that's what if I select the wrong niche? So, with that, let's get cracking.
Okay. Right, so what happens if you select the wrong niche or the niche doesn't work for whatever reason on your first try around? Well, to be honest, let's just get this straight. I select niches that don't work out in here sometimes.
I mean, I've got better and better over the years, my gut has got better whether or not something is going to work and how I'll advertise it, my instinct takes over nowadays whether or not it's going to work,
But what if you select the wrong niche?... it’s not the biggest deal in the world, okay? if it doesn't hundred percent work out the way you thought it would, it is okay in fact it could be a blessing... Let me explain why.
The amount of experience that you will get out of actually taking action from selecting your niche, setting up your store, setting up your ads, marketing, email marketing, cu...
Today, I'm going to be talking about my three top secrets to putting together killer product descriptions. So, with that let's get cracking
Now obviously, a picture says 1000 words, so you really, really want to have stunning images okay first and formost
With that said what people read is the next best thing that sells them which is your products descriptions, and so many drop shippers just cut and paste them in off there suppliers website and hope for the best however that's not necessarily the right way to do it.
If you're going to get started fast, obviously you just cut and paste, turn the ads on, and get started ASAP, but you need to come back through and redo all of your product descriptions. And I'll tell you why..
Number one; my tip number one is there's two kinds of people that will buy from your store, and you need to be appealing to them both at the same time... there's the dreamers and then there's the analytical people.
So, for the dreamers, at product description ...
Today I'm going to be talking about the three reasons to start a drop shipping business in Australia right now, so with that let's get started
Number 1 - It is untapped
Right, so the three reason you need to start your drop shipping store right now in Australia is one, it's basically because drop shipping in Australia is untapped. I mean there is some stores out there and people giving it a crack but it's not like America.
I had stores in America and I've got them here in Australia and the competition here compared to America is… I'm not gonna call it nil, meaning it's next to nothing compared to America.
The states has heavy compitition for sure however you can still make money there 100% sure, but odds of you starting your dropship store there and really doing well are getting lesss and less as time goes by..
Why wouldn't you start somewhere that is basically untapped? I mean there's just so much room for new ecommerce store in Australia and it's only going to get bigger.
With...
Today, I'm going to be talking about how much your Australian drop shipping store will make and basically how I calculate what it's going make by how much traffic is coming into my store, so with that let's get cracking
Right, so how much will you drop shipping store make? I've got a quick little formula that I do and it basically works out if I funnel targeted traffic into my store, we're usually operating at about one percent or 1 in a 100 okay,
So it tends to average it's self out so it might not be exactly a hundred people coming in to get 1 sale but it might be like 150 or 200 people, but you'll often get two sales back to back, you know in one time, two real quick bang bang at the end of that 200 traffic volume.
Now if you're selling high ticket items (which we recommend) at say five hundred dollars and if you've got a margin of call it 20%, all right so 20% of $500 is $100, not bad right....
So, for every a hundred people that you send to store it will spit it out roughly ...
Today, I'm going to be covering cashflow and how you can run your Australian drop shipping store without a credit card or cash up front. So, with that let's get started.
Okay, so business cash flow, drop shipping cash flow, it can be a bit of a balancing and for a lot of people especially if you don't want to pay via credit card to your suppliers upfront or with cash up front, which a lot of people don't have obviously if you are getting a ton of sales coming through.
So, what I do recommend so that you can literally start a store with nothing basically, is on your shipping and returns page you say you have it 10-day business day fulfillment window which gives you a lot of time for the payment processor to make sure that your payments come through they hit your account so you can pay your supplier and then they ship it out in time.
That way you don't need to use your credit card and you don't need to use any of your own cash you're literally using their money. This one of the reason...
OK I'm going to talk about a question we get a lot and that is how long does it take to run a drop shipping store, let's dive in.
So running and setting up are two completely different things, firstly I'll cover setting up really quickly, I'll give you a good idea of how long it took us to set up our first store.. Now look It only took us about three weeks to a month to actually set up that first store, we really ripped in and went for it this is from knowing literally nothing to getting up, running and advertising a completed store.
That being said it may take you a shorter and longer period of time based on your experience but I'll leave that aside that's just the set up.
A lot of the questions we get are what does it take or how much time does it take per day to run a successful drop shipping store... how much extra time am I going to have to put into this outside of my "normal hours"?
So to be honest this is going to vary big time depending on the price range of what your prod...
I recently got a message in a Facebook group saying “Dropshipping just doesn't work.” So I'm going to talk about why it may not have worked for them and why it doesn't work for some people who try this business model.
So the claim is that dropshipping doesn't work. Obviously, I disagree. But there are a number of different reasons why people feel that this business model, so let's take a look at a few of them.
The first one is that you gave it five days and then quit. In this case, I can be 100 percent sure that you're going to fail. This is pretty straightforward and I've discussed it before, so I'm not going to get into this much more here. Let's keep going.
For dropshipping to work, you need to have a good business model. I don't like the model of dropshipping in which you sell cheap items from China on AliExpress. People may make millions of dollars doing it that way, but you need a lot of experience with Facebook ads, paid ads, sales funnels, click funnels, and all tha...
How to Find the Best Dropshipping Suppliers
There are a number of different ways that you can find dropshipping suppliers. I'll cover four of them here. The first three are the easiest ones and are standard for most dropshippers. The fourth one is how I find my suppliers. So let's get started.
Number One: Wholesale Directories
This is an easy one. Literally, you can just google it. If you search for “dropship directory” you'll get a number of different sources that list these wholesalers. Five or six of them will pop up instantly. You can sign up for them, some free, and some not. Suppliers pay a fee to be part of the directory.
There are a lot of crappy suppliers on there, but you will find some good ones. There are a number of different directories that you could sign up for, but I don't highly recommend going down the directory route. Suppliers pay to be listed and you usually have to pay as well, so I'm not a big fan of the directories.
Number Two: SaleHoo
This isn't a bad...
I'm just going to state it up front: don't dropship apparel, okay? Let's take a look at why this is not a good idea.
Dropshipping apparel online isn't a good business model for several reasons. I'm not against selling apparel in general, and in fact, I personally have a clothing label that I've been working on for many years. If it's your passion, you should go for it, and be aware that it's a difficult thing to get right. I would not dropship apparel for profit, I would do it only for passion.
If you're just looking for a profitable business model, dropshipping apparel isn't likely to work out for you. There are a lot of issues that can and will arise, and dealing with them will eat into your profit margin and cause all kinds of headaches.
First, there's a very high return rate. When people buy clothing online they can't try it on, so they buy their usual sizes, but items listed as the same size often fit differently. So, if someone normally wears a large and they put your shirt o...
