Is It Too Late To Start Dropshipping in Australia?

Today I want to talk about whether or not it is too late to get started dropshipping right here in Australia.

The short answer: it's absolutely not too late! It is time to get started right now. Anybody that tells you it's too late, it's oversaturated, it's already been done, doesn't know what they're talking about. Unlike America, all the suppliers haven't caught on to dropshipping. This gives us a massive opportunity to reach out, call these suppliers, and be the only ones online selling certain products.

There aren't massive dropshipping platforms here. There are a couple, like dropship zone, color-block, or a couple of others. But a lot of the suppliers or distributors in Australia are not ready for dropshipping.

We have the chance to bring them around our way of thinking and get started with them. We can be the first to sell their products and brands online.

Amazon has only just kicked off in Australia. Think about that: one of the biggest companies in the entire world has only just started in Australia. Why is that? It’s because it's an emerging market. Australia is an emerging market. Dropshipping is ready to explode.

Shopify gives you a perfect platform to get cracking easily. All you need is a few supplies, your products uploaded, and some advertising.

Retail is completely shifting as we speak. As we sit here in 2019, it is completely shifting. It's moving away from brick-and-mortar because the overheads are too much, staff costs are too much, insurance and everything else all adds up, prices are blowing out and it's not profitable to run a brick-and-mortar store anymore.

Everything is moving online. The earlier you get in now, the better you will be off in the future. You'll have already built some authority. You'll already have a heap of suppliers on board. You would have already built a really good relationship and bond with these suppliers. It'll be much harder when other people start coming in and they stop taking on new dropshippers.

That's a while away yet, I think. But once you're an established online retailer, you've got a lot of ability to touch base with other suppliers. They're more likely to keep you on.

You've already proven yourself. You're not some fly-by-night operation. Do you understand what I'm saying here? Retail is swinging to the online market because of all the benefits: no overheads, no staff costs or lower staff costs, lower

advertising fees, lower insurance, lower everything. It is just the beginning.

It's just a matter of time before the Australian market starts to get a little bit oversaturated like the American market. A lot of the American suppliers dropship, everybody's selling the same gear. Dropshipping is a very common thing in America, unlike Australia.

So we've got a unique opportunity. A small window of opportunity to really make the most of it, become an authority in whatever niche we choose, and really take it to the next level before everybody's in on the game. In a year or two, maybe three years from now, it's going to be super common.

Everyone will want to have their little taste of what's going on, but for them, it'll probably be too late. For us right now, it's time to build an empire. It's time to build your stores, build that authority, and get in on the ground floor of this growing industry.
