How to Find the Best Dropshipping Suppliers

There are a number of different ways that you can find dropshipping suppliers. I'll cover four of them here. The first three are the easiest ones and are standard for most dropshippers. The fourth one is how I find my suppliers. So let's get started.

Number One: Wholesale Directories

This is an easy one. Literally, you can just google it. If you search for “dropship directory” you'll get a number of different sources that list these wholesalers. Five or six of them will pop up instantly. You can sign up for them, some free, and some not. Suppliers pay a fee to be part of the directory.

There are a lot of crappy suppliers on there, but you will find some good ones. There are a number of different directories that you could sign up for, but I don't highly recommend going down the directory route. Suppliers pay to be listed and you usually have to pay as well, so I'm not a big fan of the directories.

Number Two: SaleHoo

This isn't a bad one. It's technically another directory, but they have fully vetted suppliers. They're a New Zealand based company but they include international listings.

They include fully vetted wholesalers and dropship suppliers, and you can more or less rely on the supplies that they've got listed. They have some quality stuff on there.

Number Three: AliExpress

And the third that everybody uses is AliExpress. This is hit and miss all day long. If you find a good supplier through AliExpress, keep them and work with them. But you will find it's a nightmare to use. There are lots of bad suppliers there and it's hard to sort through them to find the gems.

You'll find a lot of cheap crap on there. If you're interested in selling $2 items, it's not a bad place to look, but if you're looking for quality equipment, quality gear, Aliexpress is a tough spot. Having said that, if your dropshipping model is to sell a thousand $2 items, it's not a bad spot to get started.

Number Four: Direct to Manufacturers

Finally, this is the way I find my suppliers. I reach out to manufacturers directly in my specific niche. I want to work with them directly because I find that this is the best way to find a good margin. This way, you'll get the best margins, rock-solid

suppliers, and if the manufacturer itself won't dropship for you, you can just find out who their main distributors are and then try and work with them.

Whatever country or area you're in, you can find the main distributors of the manufacturer there and build a real business relationship with them.

These are real solid suppliers that either you've rang, you've reached out, you're building a relationship with. They're not just some random source from a directory or some random company in China that you have no connection with.

Find your own suppliers by reaching out to the manufacturers that you want to work with. If they won't work with you directly, find out who their distributors are, and oftentimes, more likely than not, they'll work with you.

So those are some common ways that dropshippers find suppliers, and the way that I believe works best if you want to create a sustainable business.
