Today, I'm going to be talking about my three top secrets to putting together killer product descriptions. So, with that let's get cracking

Now obviously, a picture says 1000 words, so you really, really want to have stunning images okay first and formost

With that said what people read is the next best thing that sells them which is your products descriptions, and so many drop shippers just cut and paste them in off there suppliers website and hope for the best however that's not necessarily the right way to do it.

If you're going to get started fast, obviously you just cut and paste, turn the ads on, and get started ASAP, but you need to come back through and redo all of your product descriptions. And I'll tell you why..

Number one; my tip number one is there's two kinds of people that will buy from your store, and you need to be appealing to them both at the same time... there's the dreamers and then there's the analytical people.

So, for the dreamers, at product description that not only tells them about the product, but builds up the dream of what they're buying, okay? So use fishing reels, high end fishing reels as an example of a high ticket item if you're going to build like a store based around those sort of items, you're going to tell them how it works, and what it does, and you know what it's for. But also within that description, you need to also be talking about things, how they're going to feel when they are using it, what sort of beautiful locations they can use it at, how many more fish they are going to catch using it... see what I'm saying?.

You got to describe the dream or the benefits as much as describing the product it's self, okay? So, you got to tell them how many big fish they're going to catch, how it's going to feel on the rod, how smooth it is, maybe how their mates are going to be jealous of all the fish their bringing in now... this kind of thing.

Do you kind of get what I'm talking about? So. you want to make a really clear description of what the product is, but you also want to be selling the dream within that product, okay? I mean, this can take a while, I must admit, so don't panic if you're not all up with it right now. But that is a very, very important.

And the next part of your description, obviously, is the specs, and this is for the very analytical people, they generally want to know every single detail about what it is, it's strength, what it can pull in, the little numbers and details that matter the better to some people right?

So, some of your suppliers may or may not give you a really comprehensive specs, but you again, you've got to reach out and kind of force them into the issue and get as many details about the products as you possibly can. So that's the two kind of people that are going to be buying from the store and how to appeal to them both when writing descriptions.

Next one. Within your descriptions, you want to keyword stuffing, okay? Which is really good for your SEO, helps you stand out within Google, helps them pick you up, and just generally helps you rank when people are searching for your store, And what I mean by keywords, generally they're longtail keywords. So, again, we use the fishing example again. You might within your description put in words like best fishing reels Australia or best fishing reels online or top 10 fishing reels Australia…. These kind of long tail keywords,

You will find out more about the keywords that are popping once you turn your ads on, so once you notice that there's certain long tail keywords or certain keywords that are really, really popping for your ads you know that if people are searching for and clicking on your ads, you know that you need to be stuffing your product descriptions with those kind of keywords, okay?

Lastly, and this is something that almost everybody leaves out and that's massive calls to action for these people, right? So the way I do this, and this is sales 101, is I lead with an affirmation. For example, something along the lines of this is a great fishing reel, you've made the right choice and you deserve it, something along those lines. And now they nod their head, yes, it does look like a good fishing rod, yes, I do deserve it. You know what I mean? So, the power of suggestion is just so, so powerful. So the close at the very end of your drop shipping product description is very, very important.

So, the close is laid out with an affirmation, something along the lines of again, you deserve it, this is a great fishing reel, you're making the right decision, etc but then also close it out with a strong direction or call to action and a scarcity call.

So I say once I've given an affirmation, I also include add to cart now, or scroll up and click the button to add to cart now PLUS limited stock only or while stocks last etc...

It's a hard close and I'm taking it away at the same time. So, hard close and scarcity is at the end of every great product description... So this should be done on every single product description you have over time, 

But look I understand it's a ton of work so even if you can't be bothered writing out all these new descriptions and everything we're talking about above... If you doing nothing else and you are just cutting and pasting everything else in, make sure that you add the hard close and the scarcity in, because the power of suggestion is so powerful... people like direction and often need a nudge to move forward.
