Today, I'm going to be covering whether or not you should be using or trying to find drop shipping directories So, with that, let's get cracking.
Drop shipping directories and whether or not you should be using them. Well, to be honest over the years I’ve have a joined tons of drop shipping directories. I've taken every free trial i could find and/or bought into their first month just to see what they've got and for me the short answer is no I don't think you need be using them. You can find drop shipping suppliers yourself, but I'll go into that in a second.
Most of them are a super limited as far as the quality products go and they basically all have the same companies in them, they are selling all the same stuff more or less remote control cars, toys, clothing, bits and pieces, just small stuff.
Nothing that really fits my niche selection criteria, which is high ticket items, high quality items, not so much branded items, but good quality gear that is over and above 200 bucks, up to $2000, $3,000 dollars. Really high quality gear and none of the directories really cover that, so there's the short answer.
Most directoies you have to pay a fee to monthly fee or one time subscription fee, up to 500 bucks for one of them or $29 - $99 a month just to be part of their directory. I will say if your interested in selling low cost items like phone cases, low value electronics, clothing and nicknax it might be worth it for you...
Google is the biggest directory you will ever need obviously, It's giant and there's no need really to use the drop ship directories, How do you think these directories found the suppliers they have on their sites lol? You can find the suppliers yourself, and I'll give you a quick tip on how to do that.
All you really need to do is reach out to the biggest suppliers in your niche and cold call them try and set up an account even if they don't advertise that they drop ship you can and we do bring them around to our way of think all the time.
Whatever the niche you decided to work with, find out who your biggest suppliers are, reach out to them directly, even if they're not in headquartered in Australia they may happen to be in America, Europe, UK, whatever, China even you then contact company head office directly and find out who the major distributors for the products your interested in are in Australia then try and work with them directly. That's the idea. You try and do a deal with them directly, that's where your money is.
That's when you get real true wholesale prices and rights and that's where you build a solid foundation and start building a real business, follow what I'm saying?
Another good spot to find suppiers is through eBay, lots of direct importers on eBay. Sometimes you can find some really solid suppliers or importers of quality products there because they already more less understand our drop shipping business model. You just got to reach out to them directly and message them via their various stores within eBay, see if they are interested in supplying your online store.
So, that's just a really quick overview of whether or not I think you should use the directories. Short answer, No. You can do it all yourself guys. You do not need to pay anyone to help you find suppliers google is your best friend...
